Modern fireplaces are designed to be highly energy-efficient. Gas and electric models, in particular, can provide effective zone heating, reducing energy bills. For our electric fireplaces, the heating function has two buttons high and low where low is 750watts and high is 1500watts. To put into perspective,this is significantly lower than typical household appliances like showers, which range from 4000w to 6000w. When the heater is off and the flame is on the wattage is mere 60-80watts, which consumption is same like that of an LED Bulb meaning it does not consume electricity as one would think.
